Spell Bound is the final book in the Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins and boy was it a doozy. The story picks up right where we left off in Demonglass, with Sophie trying to find her way to her mother.

Sophie is still the smartass that I absolutely love, after everything she has been though it has made her stronger and a little wiser. She still funny, witty and have the some of the best lines I have ever read. Soph has gone through some majorly bad s*** and the worst is nowhere near over. In Spell Bound Sophie is going to go through a lot more horrible stuff before she get her, I'm not going to say happily ever after because at the end of all the s*** that she and everyone else goes through I don't think that an happily ever is going to possible, but they get a decent ending.

Sophie ends up with the Brannicks and Cal, her dad and Archer are alive and they all team up to help stop Lara Cansoff's evil plan. The plot was excellent and everything flowed nicely and this book wrapped everything up.

Overall

Spell Bound had all sorts of supernatural creatures (of course), magic, quests, an truly evil plot, friends are made, there were family revelations and a death that was truly heartbreaking. So as you can imagine, I think Spell Bound was a really good read. I laughed (Sophie), cried, couldn't wait to see what happened next and thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

I really like this series, there were a few parts that I was a little disappointed with but the overall storyline was good. I think there should have been more scenes with Cal, I no he loved her but it was like he would just randomly pop in, he wasn't really around enough. I wasn't a huge fan of the underworld scene, there could have alot more to that, alot of other books that I hav read there always seems to be a few issues getting in and out of hell and yet they just walked in also once in hell there is usually sometime major that happens or a few fight scenes and there was none of that so yea I was disappointed. and why do the parents always stay behind while they send their kids out to save the world?

I did like how it was written it was a good change to what I usually read and I thought it was funny so I would recommend it

I read this book in half a day! The pacing was lightning fast. I didn't want to leave Sophie's world. I loved this book and couldn't wait to find out how things ended; but then it was over and I was sad to leave Sophie and Archer and Jenna behind. The writing was so smooth--nothing pulled me out of the story for a single second.

This was a great ending to the trilogy. I was so emotionally invested in the characters that I gasped and teared up a few times. I love Sophie and Jenna. They are true friends and the way they come through for each other is wonderful. Archer and Cal were both great characters and it was hard to decide who I wanted Sophie to be with. The magic and the world were really cool and I loved how all the threads of the family history came together. The ending was incredibly satisfying. I kinda want to reread the entire trilogy again and savor it one more time.

Just finished reading the final book in the trilogy and I can say I am completely satisfied with how it ended and can say I loved it. The book ended with a bang, you go through the various emotions of characters who died to characters who lived and leave with a satisfied feeling. The story flow was great, the action decent and overall character evolution compared to book 1 was right on target, you will enjoy this final book in the series and as well will see lots of the story sub plots get wrapped up. I can say one part towards the end seemed rushed but it wasn't enough to distract me as a whole, you will love the ending and leave with a smile. Take a chance and read the series you will enjoy it.

Spell Bound is an absolutely, positively, amazing conclusion to the Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins. If you haven't read this series yet, you definitely must!

*This review may contain spoilers from the previous books in this series.*

Spell Bound picks up right where Demonglass leaves off. Sophie's powers have been stripped away by the Council, and she doesn't know the fate of her father, Archer, Cal or Jenna after the tragic events that happened at Thorne Hall. After being sent to find the Brannicks, a group of prodigium hunting women, Sophie discovers that a massive war is on the horizon. And it's up to Sophie to stop it.

Sophie Mercer is definitely one of my most favorite characters. She reminds me of myself, in the way that when she gets nervous, she tends to be snarky and sarcastic. I am totally the same way. I love watching her grow over the series; she has definitely become an amazingly strong character. I just adore her, especially her sarcasm.

I love Sophie's relationships with all the special people in her life; Archer, Jenna, Cal, her parents. With Archer, I have always liked him, but was suspicious as well. That definitely changed this time around. Jenna is the most perfect friend, ever. Then there's Cal, who became part of a love triangle early in the series. I definitely have a huge soft spot in my heart for him. We also get to see quite a bit of Elodie this time around, and I definitely like her more now than I did when we first met her in Hex Hall!

The book is highly addictive. The plot, all the action and suspense, the characters, it will all leave you flying through the pages. The ending of the book was shocking, and at one point had me in tears. The storyline was wrapped up nicely though, and I was left with only a few questions that didn't get answered. I wonder if we were left hanging on purpose, as it were...

I want to also mention, that this book has so many hilarious moments in it. I laughed so many times, my kids kept asking what was so funny. I loved it!

Overall, I LOVE THIS SERIES! It's so good. If you haven't read it yet, I definitely recommend that you do. Spell Bound is a wonderful conclusion to an amazing series.

Happy Reading!
