Between 1920 and 1945, America transformed from a nation that had isolated itself from the rest of the world after World War I to the globe's strongest democracy after the Allied victory in World War II. The contributors to this volume explore the events and people that shaped the era. (20030701)

I really enjoyed reading this book because the author makes every event mentioned in here really clear. Her main goal is to tell us why every event during this time period 1920-1945 happened the way it did. Every era is well-explained, she also provides the readers with the resources she used, she also adds foot notes, which make her work really reliable. In addition, this author has written other books to informe, which makes Laura Egendorf a really great author. She uses primary sources and secondary, since she provides pictures of these events. The events mentioned in the book were put in chronological order which makes it easier for the reader. In my opinion the audience for this book will be students learning the material, any person interested in the subject, Highschool/ College level students and professors.

This book is great, because it overall covers the main purposes of the events that happened. It is a timeline chain of events, so it is very organized. The author narrows down to the point and doesn't lack any unimportant information. Her findings and resources are cited as well. I think her focus is to figure out as to why these events happen the way they do and how it links together time by time. As for the audience it is intended for, I would have to say for informational seekers, students and/or professors.
