by John G. Blumberg

On the surface, the concept of values is easy to understand. Most of us want to be good to the core. But it is more challenging than it appears on the surface. How do you go about identifying your core values? How do you reinforce those values? How do you integrate them into the fabric of your life and the culture of your business?

So many times, it's not what you say, but how you say it that turns the switch from "off" to "on." And John Blumberg has "nailed" this all important topic of "building value with values." And, if there was ever a time in the history of this great country that we need to re-visit our core values...the time is now.

This is a great book for everyone in your organization to read...and re-read. Because without core values, and your commitment to reinforce those values, there can be no long-term business or in life.

"When personal values and organizational values align...exponential value is realized." - John Blumberg

Good price and fast delivery. Book was personalized to a previous owner on the inside cover. I was upset but my daughter wanted to keep.
Excellent book! Am very pleased with this purchase!
Interestingly, when I first started to read this book, I found it somewhat boring; however, as I read a little further, I became hooked. As someone who has always had an interest in philosophical principles, I found this book to be quite refreshing. It deals with the importance of having values, but also points out a simple and sad truth. Most people have trouble sitting down and writing their core values.

There are thirteen short chapters with three sections. Section one covers how to investigate the value of values. The second section deals with indicating your own core values. The final section explains how to integrate your values and actions. The purpose of this book is to persuade you to think more deeply about your own and your company's values. I believe it succeeds in this task, at least for those who live by a set of philosophical principles.

This book does not have as many inspirational quotes as other volumes from Simple Truths Publishing, but this one sticks in my mind because I have read all her books. "Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds from the achievement of one's values." Ayn Rand.

In conclusion, this is a book that will be of interest to anyone who realizes the importance of core values in one's life.
