I have read several books by this author over the past week and have enjoyed all of them but this one left me with mixed feelings. In the other books the author builds the characters so well that you really do end up liking them very much. The relationships between the main characters is also usually realistically developed over time. Even when the h's are strong you can usually relate and understand their motivation but this h had me wanting to wring her neck on many occasions. I think that the author probably did redeem her adequately at the end but not enough for me to forget how much I hated her at times. The other thing I'm struggling with is that she made me dislike the h's brother in this story but she's made him the H for the conclusion of this trilogy. I'm not sure that she can make me believe in him, especially since I didn't love this book.

Perhaps if you're considering buying this book, you would be better off waiting for all of her other books being released on May 7 than spending more than $7 on this one. Because of negative reviews i didn't buy the first book in this series either.

Very enjoyable reading. Historically very accurate. Love the way Amanda Scott writes!

A friend had this book and gave it to me because she knows I love highland or regency romance stories. Wow, this isn't a romance story at all, so I don't know what my friend was thinking.

This is a story of two very stubborn hotheaded adults who don't know the word compromise. But, then again women had know say in anything. Our h is strong minded which leads her into more problems than you think an adult women could get into

Our H is a strong alpha, who most of the time I liked. I did enjoy how the h took matters into her own hands to save her husband and that time was exciting. There are interesting secondary character's too.

We get HEA, exciting ending, no cliffhanger, lovemaking that was so so for the passion part, not very descriptive. I would get this from the library, because if you are looking for a romance, this isn't it and not worth the price. But, if you can get it free then I recommend because the ending is worth the read. I like books that are set in different times and places. I like to forget where i an and go somewhere else.

I am enjoying the trilogy so far. Janet is getting on my nerves, if only she would mind her business and let her husband do his duty.

I did not like Janet, 8 found her to be ridiculous at times. If she didn't get her way she would react like a pollutant teenager.
