Working with Dec, it soon becomes clear that there's more than a professional interest between them, but as their attraction grows, darker secrets threaten their newfound relationship. Vivian Dean leads off with a very good premise to the story. And it just gets stronger from there. The lead female character is smart, in charge of herself (mostly), and even with the strangeness happening to her keeps a fairly level outward appearance. The lead male character starts out somewhat intriguing, but as more layers unfold in the plot, he certainly becomes even more interesting. The shift from kidnapped to partner in command was fun to watch develop as well as it showed the deepening of the connection.

I do have somewhat of an issue with the focus on sexual need between the two, though really only when it is fairly clear things are approaching a crux and they near drop the entire focus of their mission for each other. Its almost like their fairly intelligent side just shuts down. While I do understand that this happens in romances, it still grated a little on an otherwise strong and excellent read.

I noticed this book's page doesn't have the standard blurb summarizing the book. That drives me crazy, so in case any of you would like a summary of the book so you'll know what they're asking you to buy, here it is:
