by Phyllis Curott

Wiccan high priestess Curott provides readers with a guide to the spiritual principles and practices of Wicca. The text aims to offer advice on how to live an empowered, divinely guided, magical life. Written in a conversational, anecdotal style, the author distils the essence of this ancient yet thoroughly modern spirituality into simple, powerful precepts, providing a system of practices that readers can use in their daily lives. Many stories and personal examples within the book aim to identify with reader's own struggles and accomplishments, as they master key Wiccan tenets and techniques. The author explains how magic actually works, showing how to use techniques, rituals, spellcasting, potions, divinations, herbs, oils and other tools, and explaining why witches use these various items. Each chapter focuses on an individual aspect of divine magic, and includes a wide variety of innovative techniques, exercises, and rituals.

One of my most favorite books I've acquired in my spiritual journey. So wonderfully written that you can feel the passion Phyllis Curott put into this book. I have learned and connected more with my spiritual self through the use of this book than any other i've read thus far. I recommend this book to not only beginners but also as a refresher since just reading makes you feel more connected to the universe.

I'm about 1/4 through this book, and it is very educational & enlightening. I can't wait to read more from Ms. Curott, since she offers such a well-informed, no-nonsense approach to witchcraft.

Phillis Curott is an excellent writer with an easy to read style that makes concepts that would be difficult for beginners easy to digest. I am no beginner, but I was once and I know that I would have welcomed her writing.

A really great thing about this book is that it is not yet another compendium of spells and potions and herbs, etc. These books exist ad infinitum and if you read any two Wicca 101 books you've read them all. I am certain that many of you reading this who have purchased many books on Wicca will agree with me. This book is a book about the spiritual dimension of Wicca, its metaphysics and why Wiccans do what they do. Don't worry, Phyllis is not saying that her way is the only way. In fact, she admits that there is no way to really get Wicca wrong and that you are supposed to come to your own understandings.

Phyllis is a bright star on the Wiccan horizon and will, if she maintains the quality of her writing and the knowledge she imparts will, in short order be one of the true luminaries of Wiccan writing specifically and magickal writing in general.

If you want to deepen your spirituality, your relationship with the God and Goddess, read this book and let its ideas pass into you to inspire you. Sometimes, just sometimes someone who possesses the title of High Priest or High Priestess actually, through their apparent knowledge and expertise has actually earned the title.

Buy this book! Buy it new, buy it used, just buy it and support authors who write books that are more than mere tables of correspondences and alphabetical listings of various divinities.

Still In Mind
Chock full of information and instruction Witch Crafting is ideal for both the beginner and experienced witch. Very well written and I'm only on chapter three. One of her other books I'm reading is Book of Shadows, it too is definitely worth your time and energy.

This is the first book I've read by Phyllis Curott (her previous work, "Book of Shadows", is in my queue) and, as a practicing Wiccan since 2012, I can honestly say that Curott has provided a fresh, magickal view of the practice of witchcraft! Her energy is palpable in this book, and I found myself eschewing my normal bed time to read "just another few pages." Curott is a very well-respected figure in Wiccan circles, and her knowledge of and love for witchcraft is evident within this book. It's an absolute must have for anyone who wants renewed energy and vibrancy about witchcraft.

Great book. I even gifted to a friend. I really love the focus on nature...

Everything great.
Curott's book, although simplistic, is a fresh breath from other beginner's books. I would recommend this book to anyone who is already an experienced practitioner, wanting a different, perhaps more down-to-earth view of the faith. This book focuses more on, "why?" rather than, "this is the way it is."
