by Lama Willa Miller

In The Everyday Dharma, Willa Miller, an authorized lama in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition, reworks ancient Buddhist techniques and adapts them for western readers seeking personal transformation. Becoming a Buddha, Lama Miller explains, means observing the mind and actions and then doing the physical, psychological, and spiritual work to move closer to one's wisdom nature. Dharma is spiritual practice; it's what one does every day to make one's mind and world a better place to live. Each chapter includes a passage to read, an exercise of the day that relates to each week's topic, a quote from a sage, and tips on how to make daily practice a little easier. The book shows that it's not necessary to subscribe to a particular -- or any -- belief system to benefit from this program. "It's only necessary," says Lama Miller, "to believe one deserves to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life."

Willa was in grade school when her wisdom-nature first deeply affected me.
Sitting at an outdoor pizza parlor in Berkley, I took out my Texas cigarette.
Her beautiful little face saddened. She touched my hand and asked me to think about not smoking.
"I love you so much. I want you to live a long long time." she said.

It was a pure love request from a pure heart. The feeling is still vivid. For a moment I felt no place or time or age difference; just the power of that heart exchange.

Now with decades of her dedicated study, Lama Willa shows me in this book that was one of my first identifiable 'wisdom-nature' moments.

I'm thrilled to reach out now with heart and hand to follow her Enlightened guidance to the place where I can live the best life from my wisdom-nature all the time......maybe for a long time still.
I'm so grateful for this material.

I was interested in The Awareness Tradition which is actually a modern form of Buddhism. This book was in our local library and it looked like it had never been touched. I read it and really liked it---to the point that I ordered it from Amazon. I have since ordered a number of copies for friends and relatives.

This book is really a practical and well-written daily manual. The teachings you can use in everyday life. My wife and I have read a number of books on Awareness and we like this one the best. Highly recommended.Everyday Dharma: Seven Weeks to Finding the Buddha in You

I read this every day. It helps with my meditation practice and gives me lots to think about. Definitely worth a look.
This is both an excellent introduction to the world of dharma and an invitation to jump in. It contains an interactive exercise of daily, small and entirely workable exercise to hone one's skills in contemplation and meditation in action. Written well by one who has obviously worked in-depth on her path, and very accessible at the same time. A very useful and inspiring book if you want to not just get your feet wet, but really learn to swim.
This book helped me establish a daily meditation practice. It's beautifully written, full of wisdom and insight. It's divided into 7 weeks of readings and activities...I've worked my way through it once and am starting over and it's as valuable the second time through. Highly recommend.
I recommend this to anyone interested in Buddhism and understanding how to incorporate it into your everyday life. Whenever I need a little inspiration during a hectic time, I find myself going back to "Everyday Dharma" and revisiting many of the lessons. I find it always brings me peace.
This book helped me to understand myself in a very difficult time. Soon after completing this book I contacted Lama Willa and took refuge. Wonderful A++++ and super easy to understand.
I have several books that I like using for daily practice and this is one of them. Even if not buddhist, this is lovely
