The Morphological Atlas of Dutch Dialects is a two-volume atlas which shows morphological variation in Netherlandic and Flemish dialects. On the basis of digitized data we have classified the Low Saxon dialects.
The Morphological Atlas of Dutch Dialects is a two-volume atlas which shows morphological variation in Netherlandic and Flemish dialects. We explore six subdomains of morphological variation: 1. plural substantives, 2. diminutives, 3. possessive pronominals, 4. present and past tense verbs, 5. the participial prefix ge-, and 6. verb stem alternations. Morphological distances are measured for each subdomain, and subsequently the aggregate has been calculated over the six subdomains.

The morphological part of the project has been published in two volumes, supplemented by four parts of an atlas focusing on phonology, and two volumes of an atlas focusing on syntax. In line with the acronym MAND (from Dutch Morfologische Atlas van de Nederlandse Dialecten), the phonological atlases are called FAND, and the syntactic ones SAND.

The Morphological Atlas of the Dutch Dialects (MAND presents the morphological formations in the Dutch (and Frisian) dialects at the end of the twentieth century in two volumes. There exists an enormous differentiation of morphological forms in a rather small linguistic area: the area where Netherlandic and Frisian dialects are spoken within the states ofthe Netherlands and Belgium. These dialects differ considerably from Standard Dutch by different word endings, different stem vowels (shortened, lengthened and umlauted vowels) and tonal contrasts.

The original book Survey of English Dialects: Introduction (1962) listed only 311 sites, excluding Newport and the village .
This was repeated in the list of localities at the start of the final Linguistic Atlas of England (1975), even though the sites were plotted on maps as Mon7 for Newport and He7 for Lyonshall. In 1966, Eduard Kolb published Linguistic atlas of England: Phonological atlas of the northern region; the six northern counties, North Lincolnshire and the Isle of Man, which mapped variation in the most linguistically diverse part of England. This book is out of print and very rare.
