It is a decent book, but the author is not the Jun Maeda who works for Key. Different person entirely.

This little book is a gem and I recommend it to any English speakers who are considering learning the Japanese language. The entire contents of this book can be memorized in less than a month. Some of the patterns are a little stiff and unnatural, but they allow the learner to express themselves quickly without worry of offending. This book contains a solid pedagogical foundation which can be used for further study. For first-time visitors to Japan and others who need to learn to communicate quickly, this book, combined with Webster's Pocket English-Japanese dictionary will help shorten the learning curve and get you where you need to be.
