David Allen Karp (born 1944) is a Professor of Sociology at Boston College where he has taught since 1971. Sociology in Everyday Life. Waveland Publishing Company, 2004. degree from Harvard University in 1966 and his P. in Sociology from New York University in 1971. Like many of his journal articles, his classic study with William C. Yoels entitled The College Classroom: Some Observations on the Nature of Student Participation has been reprinted multiple times. In addition, he has co-authored a series of articles on what happens in upper-middle-class families during the year that a child applies to college.
