I have all ot the author's other books ( as far as i can tell) and have always enjoyed the information he provides. There have been subjects unfamiliar to me and some i know quite well, but he makes the subjects interesting and very approachable for anyone.

Find this absorbing work of non-fiction and you'll be absolutely delighted! It's chock full of information that will bring joyous memories from your childhood. Popular BOOK history. This does not read like an almanac. The author has a witty sense of humor and (by the content)really took a lot of time doing research. From the back page ... "the foremost specialist on everything {the author} turns his sharp eye from beginnings and endings to the ever changing parade of trends and fads that have shaped America for the last one hundred years. How did we get from ...

"Little Egypt" to "Little Richard"?

"Amos 'n' Andy" to "Mork and Mindy"?

"Gibson Girls" to Madonna wannabes?"

This book was a wonderful, appreciated gift.
