I have an interest in the Great Northern railroad, having grown up in the Seattle area in the '50s. I had purchased Volume 1 several years ago, and wanted to get all 4 volumes. The fact that these are now out of print means you have to buy them from collectors.

Volume 2 is full of color pictures of GN locomotives of the '60s and early '70s. The author gives good information with each picture: when it was taken, where it was taken, and what the locomotive was doing.

If you are interested in what the GN did between 1960 and the BN merger, this is an excellent reference, and compliments volume 1.
