This is really a good book. I wouldn't use the word "easy" to describe it. Lots of common chords that a practiced beginner should know, so I'd describe it as "not difficult" but it's not simple, which makes it interesting. I really like the arrangement of Southern Man being it's excellent for solo performance, plus it is just fun to play. Everyone recognizes it immediately. The arrangements strike the right balance between strumming and solo picking, which makes it fun. If you like Neil Young, like a challenge that will help you move to the next level as an artist and you want to solo perform, I highly recommend this book. Check out my other reviews. I don't generally give 5 stars to anything, but this book is the exception.

Don't bother with this book. Easy does not mean accurate, much less detailed. What are publishers thinking when they release this sort of product? Does the actual musician ok the release of something like this? More to the point, what was I thinking? ...This is the only NY tablature book on the market that looked reputable....

This book of guitar tab makes Neil's songs accessible for beginning guitar students. I'm deducting a star because some of the included songs were originally recorded in alternate tunings, and the tuning is not given in this book for any of the included songs. This definitely affects the sound of the songs played in standard tuning, versus Drop D or Double Drop D. If you just want to play a Neil Young song, and don't care that it won't sound exactly like Neil, then the book is fine. Chords are simplified and some flavor is therefore lost; but you still get a good approximation of Neil's original work. The book spurred me to find more guitar tab on the 'net and to incorporate some of the additional material into the tabs found in this book, as my skills improved. I recommend this book to any beginning guitarist who loves Neil Young.

This is a good beginner to intermediate musical compilation of many of Neil Young's popular songs. It is missing a couple that i was hoping would be included like Tell Me Why, On the Way Home and I Am A Child.

It is a small book, as it only contains a handful of songs (from the Greatest Hits album); however, they are very easy to learn and have step-by-step instructions for strumming patterns and grids for learning new chords. I highly recommend it for any guitar/Neil Young lover.

Easy to read, with a nice variety for a beginner.

This is a terrific book and has helped me learn several Neil Young songs quickly. It's not the complete canon of Neil Young songs, of course, but I think it's well worth it -- and am important resource given the unavailability of Neil Young songs on Ultimate Guitar etc.
Good music for beginning to advanced beginner. Easy tab for the most part and cool selection of classic Neil Young songs.
