Family secrets and dramas are part of the human condition. It was very interesting when the cultural spin was added. As the next generation of secrets was to be added, I did not want the story to end. I wanted to see how our heroine would step up and handle truthful living. Give me more about her please!

This book was not what I expected but I enjoyed being transported into another culture. I did not expect the ending, that was a total surprise. The characters were people I could identify with and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

A very good read, historical facts intertwined with a family saga of epic proportions. The effect of political decisions make a lasting impression on the generation living through them, and then on the generations that follow, not often reflected on, in such an inspirational narrative.

Great book! A fascinating and warm view of the inner workings of a widespread family with an intriguing history. Lots of exploration of personality traits, human weakness, and familial duties as seen through the lens of cultural tradition. A lot of wisdom and a lot to think about!

I enjoy reading the perspective of a different than myself . Also I find the ethnic teachings fascinating.
