by George Orwell

George Orwell was perhaps the twentieth century's best chronicler of English culture and one of our most significant political thinkers. In this covetable boxed set are collected together four of his essential works, including the seminal novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.

These are so new it seems like they were published this year. They arrived perfectly and kinda shrink wrapped. Love this box set

How is it that Amazon can advertise a four volume set and NOT list what the four books are? Which of Orwell's works are included? He wrote more than four books!

Anyone studying journalism in college should get this set as a beginner's collection. I got this for a graduate from my alma mater in the journalism school, and he loves it! I plan on getting the real collector's 4 volume hardback, the complete works die the same person. What happens in the US is a gap between generations, but here I am not speaking between my generation to the next, I am referring to my dad's generation (born 1920), to my generation (born 1946), to the present generation. Very important information within a historical context gets lost, because the Rockefeller involvement in how public school systems teach. For example. the present generation has no idea of JFK, and even worst about Bay of Tonkin; both of which are taught incompletely and with lies (Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK; North Vietnam attacked unprovoked US warships). Imagine the lies taught about WWI, WWII, and all the other interventions including Desert Storm, Iraq. George Orwell is important because of his mastery of the language, and the insightful nature he possessed; this approach is reproduced in the minds of the young at the time when their brains are maturing in college. The emphasis on GPA (grade point average) as a substitute for real thought can be circumvented by reading Orwell.
