Lola Rose was the newest Jacqueline Wilson book and I had to get it, because I loved all things Jacqueline . I use to love reading Jacqueline Wilson books when I was younger, so I've been going through and reading as many of her books I can as an adult.

This item:Lola Rose by Jacqueline Wilson Paperback £. 6. I have read many Jacqueline Wilsons, but was a little wary of Lola Rose, mainly because it was partly about abusive fathers, which, as a 11 year old girl, is not my favourite genre. However, when I was given it by my best friend, I felt I had to read it, and it was actually REALLY good and is among my favourite books (which is really saying something, as I am a HUGE book reader) I would recommend this to any JW fan. When plain Jayni's mother wins the lottery, their life is changed dramatically.

Jacqueline Wilson's trademark is problems - from small child-centred anxieties to huge, terrible, insoluble family crises. But she avoids signposting "issues" or telling the child reader how to feel. For a start, her characters are entirely credible: real people living difficult lives. Narrated by the eponymous Lola Rose, Wilson's latest book catalogues a life of disasters for her, her mother Nikki and little brother Kenny. Liberated from her violent husband by a lottery win, Nikki flees with the children.
When life with Jayni's violent-tempered father becomes too frightening to cope with, Jayni, her mum and her little brother Kenny are forced to escape in the middle of the night. Slipping out of the house unseen, travelling up to London by train and checking into a hotel - it's almost like playing an elaborate game. They even make up false identities to protect their secret, and Jayni becomes the glamorous-sounding Lola Rose.

Jacqueline Wilson is a name that a lot of avid readers might remember .
Jacqueline Wilson is a name that a lot of avid readers might remember from their childhood. Wilson, who has written over 100 books, is one of the most loved British children's authors of our generation. I fell completely in love with this sad story and eagerly followed Lola Rose and Kendall's story with their struggling young mother, where it often seemed like young Lola Rose was the one taking care of the others. It's a very memorable and charming story that I believe is Jacqueline Wilson's best.
