A nice easy read. I did think it was going to be closer to the stories of the missing girls. Typical Tasmanian location with the beach shanties and very casual lifestyle of its occupants. I felt the author tried a little too hard to emphasize her research on fishing in an effort to make the story more believable. Got a bit slow two thirds of the way through but I did enjoy it.

If you'd like to understand a little bit about Australians and their lifestyles this is the book for you. Summer holidays to small beachside towns , staying in pretty rough holiday shacks is a very Australian thing.
The personalities , their back stories and unsolved murders make for a captivating and quirky story. An easy and enjoyable read.
Talrajas
Interesting read which leaves you guessing who has committed the murders in the quiet Australian holiday spot. Could be a little more exciting though.
Zeus Wooden
Great location, interesting characters, author's research shows through but the book loses steam part way through and the ending is disappointing. Inserting brand names into the text should also be avoided.

i would have given it five except both the lead characters seem to be emotional imbeciles who cannot get over their problems some of them years old..
Naril
Yes, different. A mystery/suspense with credible characters. Plot winding up a bit improbable...but...what do you do? Having set the scene some sort of resolution is needed.

I liked the fact that the story was based in Tasmania, and could relate to story setting (brought back memories of family holidays many years past)
I picked the culprit fairly early in the story. The plot was a bit thin.
Love reading Australian books, Poppy has done a great job for her first novel. Set in Tasmania and having been there can visualise the setting. Looking forward to her next novel
