John Claypool is an amazing wordsmith. He can turn a phrase like no other writer I know. "God always has something up that multicolored sleeve of his," he says about the OT story of Joseph and his brothers.

Again, I've purchased well over a dozen of these books over the years as well as some other of John's books. He was my pastor when I was in Seminary. He was a giant. I was blessed to see how a true minister of God could "rightly divide the Word of Truth."

This is a series of four sermons. All four were very real and meaningful and helpful. I especially found the last two particularly profound and applicable to everyone. As soon as I finished it I ordered another copy to give to a friend. And then I also read it again.
Beautiful book on grief written by a grieving father. Very helpful for all types of grief.
After my husband died nine years ago, I read every book I could find on grief in my attempt to alleviate my suffering. In my training to become a Lay Chaplain with Community of Hope International ([...]) John Claypool's book "Tracks of a Fellow Struggler: How to Handle Grief" was recommended. After buying it from Amazon, I have bought at least 10 more copies to give to other people who are grieving. Understanding that our loved ones are great gifts from God, whose memories are to be treasured has made a huge difference in my own life, and in the lives of others to whom I have given this classic book. If you are grieving, please get this book!

I'm a minister, counselor, and a parent that lost a child. This book was a turning point in my grieving. Claypools own experience, even though very different from our loss, showed me an understanding I'd not been able to acquire from any person I had spoken with after the death of our daughter. A must read if you want to feel understood in your loss.
Arrived in good shape. One of best books ever. Very insightful.
This an old book but the message is still fresh.
Excellent journey through this pastor's struggle with grief after his 8-year old daughter's death from leukemia.
