Scoreboard Bleeding
If you're in cosmetology school using Milady texts, and the ONE CHAPTER on hair cutting didn't click with you, this may be exactly what you need. The instructions are clear. They explain how the hair falls from the head, and how you need to hold it as you cut it to get the effect you're after. In the back, there are step by step procedures for a 17 haircuts in order of increasing skill. The diagrams simple and clear.
I'm thrilled with this purchase and would recommend it to all cosmetology students.
Neophyte trying to delve into saving the haircut budget, too scared to try real hair, this book did not change my mind.
Has all modern cuts, nothing tractional. Hair that had color streak, spiked, all younger, hip-hop, wild stuff. Was looking for something more middle age and above type haircuts. We just threw the book away!
Wow, everything you ever need to know if you spend the time to read and understand. Professional level
I've always cut my own hair, because I don't like beauty salons. After just a brief perusal of parts of this book(I intend to read it closely later on), my haircut is better than it's ever been. The book presents some theoretical background (zones of volume and non-volume; overall outer shape) and then shows how and where to cut a lock of hair at an angle, for instance. There are lots and lots of illustrations, so you always know what the book is talking about.

It seemed to me that it would also be informative for someone looking to become a barber or hairdresser.
Great information, great colorful pages...
I was looking for more descriptive information on simply haircutting. This is a manual used in Cosmetology school so it reads more like a text book. I'll keep the book but not really what I was looking for.
very difficult to follow cut examples
