by Liza Marklund

'That night he did something so controversial that he'd rather be suspected of murder than tell anyone what he was really doing. What could possibly be worse than that?' Trainee journalist Annika Bengtzon has secured a summer placement at Sweden's biggest tabloid newspaper. She's desperate for this to be her big break, although manning the tip-off phoneline isn't quite what she had in mind...Until a caller tells her that the naked body of a young woman has been found in a nearby cemetery. As she pieces together details of the young woman's life, Annika stumbles across video footage that places the main suspect hundreds of miles from the crime scene, right at the time of the murder. Are the police looking for the wrong man? There is suddenly far more at stake here than Annika's career, and the more questions she asks, the more she leaves herself dangerously exposed.

I so enjoy reading Liza Marklund books. I got started with them when I picked up "Red Wolf" a few years ago and have been "hooked" on this author ever since. Even though I've read other Liza Marklund books previously to "Exposed", this one really marks the first in the series of the Annika Bengtzon, Crime Reporter. The series doesn't have to begin with this book, but it's helpful to understand the beginning of Annika as a crime reporter and her younger days before marriage and children. This book was previous titled: "Studio 69" and sometimes referred to as "Studio Sex". The current title, "Exposed", is much better in my opinion. I'm looking forward to reading #2 in this series: "Vanished" (aka "Paradise") and then #3: "Prime Time". I've also read the following, but not necessarily in chronicle order: #4: "The Bomber", #5: "Red Wolf", #6: "Nobel's Last Will". #7: "Lifetime" won't be published until early September 2013, followed by #8: "A Place In the Sun" - which is currently unavailable, but hopefully coming out soon.

I liked the format: not knowing who the short passages before most chapters referred to until later in the book.
Only a little disappointed that the real culprit didn't get justice but I guess this can be real life.
Interesting to read how the author cleverly weaves the story around factual situations she herself experienced.

My first Liza Marklund book, I am now officially a fan and will read more.

Although the description of "Exposed" appealed to me, l found it a difficult read. It was too disjointed and fragmented for my taste. However, the final chapters tied it all up neatly - too neatly? Maybe I should withhold my final verdict, and read the follow-up to "Exposed"; before I make a final decision on Liza Marklund's writing. But, do I really want to?

I choose Amazon because they lead me to booksellers I would not find on my own. And the sellers are all reputable and dependable. I am always pleased with my purchases; this one was no exception.

This is a very readable book and you can almost feel the TV series to follow.

Liza Marklund is my new "Hero"
Never thought much of female writers, find them too "nice", but Liza Marklund changed my mind.

The first time i tried to read this book i wasn't all that fussed, the second time however was very different, i guess you really have to be in different moods sometimes to read.
This book is really quite good, although it's in Switzerland and the towns and some of the the words are hard to pronounce it's very interesting and keeps you wanting more, there are some confusing parts in the book but in the end all will come to surface.
