Like the book "David Brinkley" by David Brinkley, it is a very good picture of what Journalism used to be like. I don't always agree with the political views but it is about their personal historical perspectives. It is the view of people that were there. I appreciate reading people that were my contemporaries. It is a very good book.
Swift Summer
An older book but very well written by a pioneer among female tv reporters. Enjoyable.

Nancy Dickerson's son recently published a biography of her. As a rule I prefer autobiographies becuase I like to see what a person has to say for themselves. Among Those Present is entertaining and illuminating. Nancy Dickerson was pioneer but she wasn't stuffy about it and seemed to really enjoy her career and life off the camera. Her portraits of Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson ( a very complicated and surpsingly sensitive man), Nixon (who must have been crazy) and Ford are fascinating and her descriptions of life in Washington were great. When she talks about her personal life she was frank without telling too much and I appreciated that.

It's a meaty book and I'm glad I found it. This is just about perfect.

Sitting on a shelf and cannot really review it up.

I'm sure there is some value, though. Pick it up if you feel a need....
