Love this story. So awesome that the story has a scripture verse as the moral of the story! Enjoyed the historical characters in this story. Don't forget to read the authors note.
This was a great add on for our unit study of Daniel Boone. My boys enjoyed listening to the story as well.
Quick read. Good book to gain historical perspective from early America.
This is an absolutely captivating book!
My kids loved the fact that the lead character really lived, and the book was loosely based on an actual persons life!!
This book is based about the time of the revolutionary war ending, and shows some of the trials of moving West, just over the mountains from known settlements, and why that was important. A story of a young girls courage. Well researched by the author.
A good book to get children started in thinking about their own family history and the encounters with famous people, some of them, might have had.
Also a look into the responsibilities a young girl at that time.
Great book for a 4th or 5 the grader. Even though the main character is a girl, Ann, she has brothers in the book and my son did like this book.
Needed to find an interesting "historical fiction" selection for daughter's 4th grade book report. She could relate to the main character, a young girl her age.
This captured her attention right away, and made the project much easier on all.
