This paper situates recent schooltowork transition policy in Ontario . The second period, from approximately 1970 until the present, involves more recent business-led reform activities.
This paper situates recent schooltowork transition policy in Ontario, Canada, within the historical context of secondary school reform in the past 50 years. This understanding informs our analysis of interviews with representatives from government, business, organised labour, education and partnership brokers. Ontario was the largest of the provinces and states in North America that opted for the second model.
The Ontario Secondary School Diploma is a diploma granted to secondary school graduates in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is part of the publicly funded province-wide school system. It is awarded to all students who complete the Ontario education curriculum, including students in Special Education, the TOPS program, MaCS program, IB Program, and other focused secondary school programs.
