by Shirleigh Moog

From back cover: Shirleigh Moog is a very capable person who happens to be married to Robert Moog, inventor of the Synthesizer. She is an extraordinary hostess, entertaining 4 to 100 people with equal ease. All of her know-how is in this book. Some tributes to her: "Shirleigh makes music on the kitchen stove." - Robert Moog "Shirleigh generates an enveloping aura of charm and sensibility among her guests, her sequential control of the evening pulsing a smooth wave of food, friends and conversation." - Keith Emerson "I'm not sure whether the mushrooms were wild or not but your cooking was great!" - John Cage

This book has been around for decades - the color cover ones I've seen are original editions, and Shirleigh herself was selling a newer print with a black/white cover. Same book though. One of the MOST useful things she talks about is enjoying yourself, not being tied to the stove and kitchen when the guests are coming in. She shows recipes designed for hosting guests, entertaining people, not just for cooking meals. I think it excels and may be somewhat unique in that way; most people know her as the then-wife of Bob Moog of the synthesizer fame. Which brought her in touch with hundreds of artists and technicians, all of whom had great things to say about her food and hospitality.
I shall cook the Stuffed Tufoli, and then I shall play my 1974 Model 15 synthesizer. The evening shall be complete.
Our family enjoys several meals every month selected from Shirleigh's collection of delicious, easy to fix recipes.

Our all time favorite is her unique method of preparing Buffalo Chicken Wings. We have had these hundreds of times since her cookbook was first published and never tire of their spicy, but not overpowering, taste.

I'd recommend her book just for this recipe alone.
