2 and 1/2 stars. This book starts out okay. It has its moments of interest, like the stories about Marilyn, Jack and Grigori. However the big chase scene is totally unbelievable. And Zoe is not supposed to trust anyone? Well, no, not with "Pony Tail Man" and "Jasmine" chasing her. But she suddenly and without reason seems to immediately trust Ry? Oh, come on! So, in between occasional bright spots, the story line is flat, unbelievable and just plain blah. I, too, was trying to guess what was the real name of the author, but never did. Avoid this one folks, unless you have more time on your hands than you know what to do with and don't mind spending your money on a so so book. .
What is the Altar of Bones and can Zoe solve the riddles in time to save her life and that of her lover? An interesting turn on the Fountain of Youth myth and the "second shooter on the grassy knoll" theory from the assassination of JFK. Non-stop action and romance make this one a winner.
Well written thriller that hooked me from the beginning causing me to put all my other books aside. The descriptions of the cold, harsh Siberian environment, the cruel, vicious killers and the journey to solve a centuries old mystery kept me from reading a minimum number of chapters a night. The link to two tragedies in our country seemed plausible and were not the direction I was thinking the story was going in. All together it was a very enjoyable read!
Love this book - wish I knew who the real author was so I could read more of their stories!
This book I could not put down. It is a drama about a legend passed down through mother ( or grandmother, in this case) and granddaughter. It is so realistic because it involves modern History you almost think that some of the action is true, or definitely could be. A lot of intrigue. I definitely recommend it!
Really entertaining book. Got it for a friend's birthday. Has a lot of components that I loved.
Great suspense thriller!
Alter of Bones was a fast-paced, action-packed read! i'd call it a page-turner, but i read it on my kindle, so i guess i'll call it a button-pusher!
from the start, this book hardly slowed down! there was hardly a moment where i could relax with the characters in a safe situation! they race from one adventure to the next, uncovering fascinating and unexpected connections to the central plot at every turn!
if you're a fan of James Rollins or Steve Berry, you'll love this one, too!
