excellent book very good reading. so far all the Nicci French books(the ones you can get in U.S.) has been wonderful reading.
So far i have not been disappointed in any of her books. They keep your interest till the end and hard to put down.
Seemed liked a good premise in the beginning, but the story took a weird turn about halfway through. By the end about half of what you read, which you think is clues important to the story line, reveals itself as filler. Don't waste you're time trying to figure out the faux "whodunit" aspect, your efforts will be fruitless. Unlikeable, underdeveloped characters. Would not recommend.
There is something important about this book. There is also something dreadfully hilarious.
It also ended far to soon,
ah well the after world is like that.
wish they would write more books
up to her usual standard of wanting to reach the end but not wanting to miss a bit. good characters as per usual and well worth a read. if you are a fan of Nicci French as i am you will not be dissapointed.
The Rollers of Vildar
I was expecting a lot more from this book, given all the good reviews. I've always really enjoyed Nicci French books but this one was a real disappointment- or at least the last chapters were. It's almost as if the author didn't know how to finish the book. It had the potential for an exciting twist but it didn't eventuate at all. Although I enjoyed most of the book I was really disappointed with the ending. Could do better! It won't put me off this author however, but I'd like to think that the other books hold a little more excitement at the finish.
I chose three stars only because the story got a bit lost in the middle, the ending tied the story together quite well
I really liked this books. A lot of writers don't know how to end a story and some really are ridiculous. This books grabs you from the beginning and ends in reasonably logical fashion that is believable. Twist are just fine, but they have to work. This book works from beginning to end. A very enjoyable book.
