Yes the snake is scary. Yes it unfortunately bit people. However Mr. Godey's writing style makes this more of the insanity of New York attempting to handle a bizarre situation. I found myself laughing out loud at his ability to describe it all. Having worked in New York, it all came back to me. I hope there is a sequel, I would definitely recommend it. You will want one too after reading Snake!!
Would give it a 4 and a half , but can't. Moves fast and keeps your interest. A great telling of what might happen if a non-native poisonous snake were to be released in a big city. I would recommend this to any one who loves wild life thrillers or even a really good book..
This is a riveting story about a black mamba snake that gets loose in Central Park. The story is exciting and a quick read. I highly recommend it.
I have read this book three times over the past few years. I highly recommend it. Please Mr. Godey, More books like this one?!
You'll never think of Central Park the same again......

Through a series of circumstances, an adult black mamba, the deadliest snake in the world, becomes lose in Central Park in New York City.

The resulting suspence is chilling. The plot slithers forward, and then twists and strikes repeatedly -- this could be the definition of "couldn't-put-it-down."

My wife read this for the first time, in one sitting, AFTER our first trip to New York City, and even though we were back home, it still scared her.
I enjoyed this when I bought it in hardback many years ago. It is just as scary and fresh and fun now. There was a real poisonous snake loose in Central park recently. enjoy this fun book for yourself!

Really good book. Well written. As good as "Jaws". Fast moving.
I first read this book many years ago. I found it on a bargain book table for a couple of dollars. The novel is interesting and keeps the reader in suspense from the first page to the last. It is one of my favorites and I was glad to find it again.
