This was a darker mystery for the Christmas season than I expected from Ms. Bodoin and it was great! Jennet naturally finds another body while trying to drive home during blizzard like conditions. From there she meets 3 beautiful pure white collies, looses the locket Crane gave her, and spends an obscene amount of money at the antique shop she discovers while trying to find help after discovering said body. Once again Jennet promises Crane to keep her nose out of an active murder investigation and does; only to start investigating the mystery of the Snow Dogs which places her in the path of a completely murderous psychopath. Ms. Bodoin spun a wonderful tale and the characters are truly alive with a nice side of humor - things livened up since Jennet moved to Foxglove Corners.
This was my introduction to the Foxglove Corners Mysteries, and I loved it! I will be continuing to read the series until I am up to date and will follow along from there. The setting and the characters are appealing, the mystery is well done and keeps you turning the page, and there are COLLIES! It's a must for Collie people who enjoy reading Cozy Mysteries, and for dog and cat lovers in general, who will enjoy these stories just as much. If you don't like animals, give these books a try anyway, they might just change your mind.
If you like to curl up with a cozy mystery than this book is for you. Fun read with just enough action and mystery, if you like blood and gore than you won't like it but its perfect for me.
Lonesome Orange Kid
Do you like a little paranormal to flavor your cozy? Or do you just love mysteries set around Christmas time? If so, this is one tale you won't want to miss.

Talented author Dorothy Bodoin makes us feel the cold bite of snow, the sense of danger of traveling a lonely wooded road in a snowstorm, and the fun of shopping for Christmas. Her blending of these elements with the appearance of three white collies to Jennet Greenway on a lonely wooded road during a bad snowstorm sets the stage for something to happen. And it does.

Jennet thinks she's hit one of the dogs and during her search for it, she finds a body that has been attacked by animals. Rumors of a cougar in the area will raise the hair on the back of your neck as you follow Jennet back to her car. What had been a lovely winter scene is now a place of danger.

A cleverly plotted story to please any reader. I'm pleased to recommend it as a book worth the time and sure any mystery fan will enjoy it. You'll be looking for other books by this author. Enjoy. I sure did.
