Detection of explosives and drugs is an urgent problem in the world today for the purposes of anti-terrorism checking, clearing the areas of military conflicts of mines, investigating the cases of explosives and drugs usage, including identification of people after their contact with explosive devices and drugs. Up to now the problem of detection of explosives, especially the location of explosives whether at large areas e. g. station halls, theaters or hidden in cars, aircraft cargo, baggage or explosives hidden in crowds e. suicide bombers or bombs in bags has not been solved. Smelling of explosives like dogs do seems to be a valuable tool for a security chain.

The presented papers are an outcome of an NATO ARW which was hold in Moscow and cover different aspects of vapour and trace detection of explosive.
