As usual, a very inspirational book by an author who knows how to put the reader into her characters, make their actions identifiable with her readers. I love the entire Blue Sky Hill series of books. These are books that you may start out borrowing, but by the time you finish, you want your own copy to refer to the wisdom within the pages.

After reading several series by Lisa Wingate I finally began an earlier, if not her first series - the Blue Sky Hill Series.
A Month of Summer is a wonderful story! It is particularly meaningful now that I know folks who have had strokes or are experiencing dementia or Alzheimer's. Told in the first person by the stroke patient and her step-daughter the story gives the perspective of two people reaching out, learning the truth, forgiving and reconnecting. What a storyteller!
Still In Mind
This book is amazing, and it really changed my perspective and gave me healing and hope in my mind. We were taking care of my precious father in our home. After breaking a hip, he had gone blind, couldn't walk, his slight dementia had accelerated, he was in diapers. It was so hard for me to deal with. My daughter got this book from the library and I read it on a Wednesday night. Stayed up all night, could not put in down, cried as I read it because it spoke so clearly of so many of my own feelings. Dad was in hospice respite care for five days at this time. After reading the book, I felt a surge of new life in me on Thursday and worked so hard at preparing his house to bring him home from Hospice Respite on Friday morning. They called at before 7:00 a.m. on Friday and I thought they were calling to tell me what time to expect him home; but instead, they said when they made the rounds at 5:l5, he had passed away in his sleep. I was just shocked even though we knew death was imminent. I thought I would be better prepared, I wasn't. This book made all the difference in the world, and it is still helping me. If you are a caregiver or know someone who is, please read the book for yourself. It will give you understanding on this. I will be there for my friends in the future when they become caregivers or even for someone I don't know if they need help. It makes one see how precious and fragile life really is, and it makes us see what is important - love. Love is not tangible, it cannot be seen, does not have a price tag on it but it is so real and it last forever, it is priceless. This was my first read by this author, but I certainly plan on reading her other books and keeping up with her new ones.

I have always loved all the books I have read by Lisa Wingate and really loved them all. She can somehow keep you on your toes wondering what will happen next. I have wondered how she could write so many books and find so many interesting situations and different adventures and lifestyles in each one.

Every book Lisa Wingate writes is well worth your time -- and mine!
Bliss
Most readers will be able to relate on some level with Rebecca and her struggle to come to terms with her past. Strong threads of forgiveness, grace and mercy run through this novel. The characters are believable and honest, and their situations are heart-wrenching at times. I found myself totally drawn into this story, especially as the relationship between Rebecca and Teddy developed, and later Rebecca and Hanna Beth. I liked the point of views from both women so that we could empathize with them at the same time.
This was the first Lisa Wingate novel I have read, but it will not be the last!

Not as good as her other books, a little boring, could have ended a lot sooner
Read the whole series in just over a week! All 4 books. Love her writing style and the bringing in characters from previous books. I feel like I know them.
