This was another very good read. I really enjoyed this entire series. I total got lost in the series. The author has been added to one of my top favs.
Ranenast
Kern is a watcher, a hero vampire that protects civilians against rogue vamps that would feed on humans. Eight months ago, he was captured by a scientist on a vendetta against all bloodsuckers. He is held hostage, chained in an underground lab where he is tormented mercilessly, experimented on, kept in constant isolation, starved and forced to endure unimaginable hours of horror at the hands of a mad man.

His breaking point has come and gone and come again. He's given up all hope of a rescue from a fellow watcher. But, he's not resigned to die. He continues to fight his abductor at every opportunity. Each day his hate and anger grows and intensifies into an all-consuming rage, from which there possibly may be no return.

Enter human Marie Deveux. She's been dreaming of Kern for months, a man she's never met but feels inexplicably connected to. His image consumes her and takes over her life. She questions her own sanity. Then, she makes the decision to go find him.

The problem is that Kern may be too far gone to know the good guys from the bad guys anymore. Will he accept Marie's help? Will he see the connection between them?

MIDNIGHT SAVIOR by D. McEntire is an emotional journey that tests the psychological endurance of its characters. Kern goes through so much that the suspense is alive within the first few pages of the story. The emotional trauma that burdens him had me thinking about him for many days after reading this story.
