Best by enemies within and without, Russia is reeling. And Vladimir Lenin is waiting in the wings-.

In 1917 Russia finds itself in a nightmare of political upheaval and violence as ruthless men clash over control of her destiny. Saddled with a devastating, unpopular war, the Provisional Government flirts with disaster while the power-starved Bolsheviks circle like wolves for the kill. Tsar Nicholas and his family have become both prisoners and pawns in this deadly game of chess.

Amid the turmoil, Anna Fedorcenko's sons face the consequences of their personal and political choices. Russia will never be the same, that much is certain. But unless Andrei and Yuri are able to cast off the blinders of the past, they too may be caught in the chaos sweeping throughout the Motherland.

A dark pall hangs over the Russian empire as it careens toward an unsettling future. Will the faith and love that have become the Fedorcenko and Burenin legacy shed enough light to make any difference?

Excellent series. Good way to learn Russian history. Sad ending for the history but good for the character. Highly recommend this series.
I read all seven books in the series. The storyline was wonderful. I learned a lot about the Russian Empire as it was between the 1870s and 1918. I loved all the main characters and was very sad when I had to leave them as this book ended. I would highly recommend this series of books to any person who wishes to take the time to read them.
As a student of Tsarist Russian history for many years, I found this series to have a unique prospective on events of the times leading up to the end of the Romanov dynasty. The personal views of two families brings heart to the historical accounts. And their faith journeys give hope in God for all of us.
The books were very interesting gave a lot of history about Russia It's only natural to have some romance but it didn't dominate the story.
This series is one of my all-time favorites of historical fiction. I have had a love affair with Russian history for a long time. These books have just the right level of all the literary triggers to not be offensive to anyone: violence, sex, religion. These ingredients are necessary to develop a believable story about a very, very tenuous time in Russia's history.
This is the end of a wonderful series. I loved every book and even the end was satisfying inspire / of the tragic end of the Romanovs
I have read of these books. It is a wonderful series. I wish there were more.
I read all 7 books in this series and loved them. I like history and this series was fascinating about the Russian revolution.
