This book felt a little disorganized with too many things happening. I don't want to give away spoilers, but it was as though the author put into a blender dirty cops, hazing of new cops, especially women; car jackings, real estate scams, murder and Decker's daughter in the middle of it all driving him nearly crazy. It felt disjointed, jerky and disconnected. Nonetheless, I bought the very next book in the series and began reading it immediately.

Even a wonderful writer like Faye Kellerman can have an "off" book.
Kellerman dropped the ball on this one. I was very surprised how she made Cindy so stupid ( only word I could come up with ). No police department would allow a rookie like Kellerman made Cindy to be among the men and woman in blue. I almost deleted the book. The plot was great.
It was a surprise that as the Stalker approached it's exciting conclusion that Peter Decker revealed his sensitive and vulnerable side of his paternal relationship with his children. In the meantime, Cindy demonstrated the strength and maturity to survive the stressful conflict of the confrontation that "wrapped up" the loose ends of the subplots with the variety of characters that collectively composed the over-all complex story line.As usual, this was an exciting and tense story that will keep the reader spell-bound.
Another winner by Faye Kellerman. This story is still of believable characters and full of Judaic tradition. This combination makes for,a truly touching story. Once into it, hit is a latte Turner and very hard to put down. I look forward to reinforcing myself south the Decker/Lazarus series, especially the ones with Cindy Decker!
I think the lesson one can take away from this novel is that it's best to stick with what you know and what has worked in the past. In this case, Kellerman has made a career of writing Decker/Lazarus mysteries. Peter Decker generally has been the main character. This one is an aberration, with the emphasis on his adult child and her issues as an LA detective. It's not a bad book, but it would have been better had Kellerman stuck to her proven formulas.
Some of this series are better than others, but this one was a big let down. I almost didn't finish it. The pace was slow and I was beginning to not really care who done it. Best stay with Peter, as others have said.
I have always liked the Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus books. But their stories are almost over. In comes Decker's daughter, Cindy, who adds a bunch of new spices to the cholent! I read this book in one and a half days because I, who always knew the end of a mystery novel after having read half the pages, was stumped, No spoilers here. Get ready for an exciting ride.
Stalker is a rollercoaster ride. Peter Decker's daughter is now a rookie with Hollywood PD. Her father's division has a year old case of a car jacking and murder. Other carjacking cases involving mothers with small children. Cindy is put in danger and recieves some threats. She is not sure from what area they are coming from. An exciting page turner. Would highly recommend this series and book.
