"The Player" is the start of a great series by Rhonda Nelson. The three main male characters all bring something different to the table. Yet together, they are simply divine. I liked the quick background we got on all three of them and why they left the military. But given that this story is Jamie's, I loved how the plot directed him. At first the idea of an Army Ranger at a de-stressing camp seemed ridiculous, but as the story went along, it was like peeling back an onion for the reader. With each passing day and activity, it's clear that Jamie needs this time to sort of reconfigure himself and the ideals he'd thought he had. Audrey is the perfect heroine for him, and the chemistry between them is not only believable but envious. The banter is light and fun. The love scenes were hot and spicy and then soft and romantic. All in all, one of my favorite books from this author, hands down.

I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to crack into the rest of the series. It was funny, and endearing. Amusing and heart squeezing. I love the way she developes the characters so deeply and the plot was wonderful. (And the cover art is to die for.) I like how they didn't jump into bed immediately and really liked that it was mostly that end of the book that the really steamy scenes show up because the tension she creates between the two characters was amazing and whent they finally do start steaming up the pages, it was HOT HOT HOT. :)

Overall, if you like short, romantic novels and aren't offended by sex scenes, then give this book a try.

This is the first book in the Men Out of Uniform series and i couldn’t wait to read them all!!

We are introduced to 3 friends who lose a brother in arms and needed a quick out of the military, Colonel Garrett is happy to oblige them in return for a favor.

Jamie Flanagan is the first to step up…He agrees to spend some time at a de-stressing camp run by Garrett's granddaughter Audrey to prevent her from marrying a man which the Colonel doesn’t think is good enough. Funnily enough Audrey agrees!

When Jamie and Audrey met the attraction is mutual and their relationship is fun and sexy.

You will love ALL the characters, the laughs, the love and the steamy scenes in this Rhona Nelson series. I recommend you read the others.

Great, quick enjoyable reads!!
Book: The Player (Men Out of Uniform series #1)
Author: Rhonda Nelson
Rating: M (for Mature Audiences - nothing that you would find in your run of the mill romance novel)
Media Type: eBook (read on the Kindle app on a Nexus 7)
Setting: Maine, USA
Characters: Jamie Flanagan, Audrey Kincaid

Synopsis: Jamie Flanagan owed Colonel Garrett a favor. How else would he have ended up at a "distressing" camp in Maine called Unwind? No on his own, that's for damn sure. This tough as nails ex-US Army Ranger would rather be back on the battlefields than painting pictures and talking about his feeling. And the only thing he's feel right now is hot for the girl he's supposed to be guarding, Audrey Kincaid, owner and proprietress of Unwind ... and Colonel Garrett's granddaughter. A raven haired beauty, Audrey left the world of financial analysis after having a heart attack at age 26. Now she's stuck with an emotional vampire of a boyfriend who is asking her to marry him (with the ultimatum that he will dump her if she says "no") and a hot, hot, hot colleague of her grandfather that is having trouble getting over the death of a battle buddy. What's a girl to do?

Review: This was another well written, great, quick read. I was kind of hoping to get Judd Anderson's (Jeb Anderson's twin from The Professional (the first part of this book)) story but Jamie's story was very good also. After reading these two stories, I do plan to go out and get the rest of the books in this series.
