I think I am going to give up on this author. Her stories are good, but I find it extremely irritating that she writes the heroes as over-the top handsome, while down-playing the heroines' looks. At least in the stories I have read he heroine is usually pretty, but not beautiful, while the guy is absolutely gorgeous (and we are often reminded of the fact). And even when the heroine is beautiful (as in this book), it is a qualified beauty. Example: at the very beginning of the book, the hero finds her sexy and is very attracted to her looks, but we are told that she has an unsual face, but that she is not classically beautiful, what's that supposed to mean?. In the meantime the hero is "heart-stoppingly handsome"

Since I decide which books to buy, and I hate it when it seems that the hero's good looks eclipses the heroine's, and Ms. Bruhns has a penchant for making the hero close to a Greek God, and making the heroine sound far less attractive, I have decided she is not an author I want to read. I am sure many other people, love for the man to be spectacularly handsome, and the woman merely pretty, but I am not one of them. Romance books (be it thrillers, historicals, contemporary, etc,) are a fantasy read (by that I mean: not resembling reality very much, at times not at all). And I like in MY fantansy read, for the heroine to be better looking than the man.
Okay you need them all- because they are all great!! Hot Cajun/Creole hunks and a backdrop of New Orleans and the Bayous- what could be better? This book runs parallel to the story in Sweet Revenge and tells us the events that were going on with Remi and Muse that led them to saving Grace and Creole at the last minute. Sexy, sassy Muse leads the life of a carefree, no holds, no bars party girl until she finds herself involved with a violent murderous crime king. Working undercover gets lethal and Muse finds herself going deep undercover with the gorgeous Remi we met in Catch Me if You Can! Then it all comes out- Muse has a deep dark secret and is not at all the party girl everyone believes her to be! Hot steamy love scenes and love found unexpectedly keep you entertained all the way to the happy ending you hope for :-)
How can one family have so many sexy men in it. ....I know, it's a book, right? Wonderful story with plenty of suspense that kept you on edge.....and plenty of romance that did too!
This is the 3rd book in a series and I have really enjoyed reading all three of them. The female character is a bit annoying but not enough to take me out of the story and the male lead is quite interesting. The heat factor is perfect, just enough to make it a great read. I am a super cheap Kindle reader and usually only read free books, but I gladly purchased this book because I needed to wrap up the series.
I love stories set in Louisiana. Each of these is different but they build on each other as new characters are introduced. Yes I would recommend this trilogy to anyone who loves contemporary stories with some historical stuff mixed in, steamy romance, and suspence.
Nina did it again. After reading most of her books under both pen names, I can not help but think something is a little "shady" with the similar character and content in another newly popular "gray" intimate work. Nina never disappointments by having a good storyline, well developed characters of interest, and details appropriate placed / not forced in the context of her character's lives.
The final book in this trilogy didn't disappoint.

I like how the author tied it into the events of the sequel so we could see how Grace's sister, Muse, had actually caused her events to happen and how Muse dealt with the situation she was in.

I also love how the author touched on Beau and Kit from the first book. It was nice to know how their romance and lives were coming a long.

I would recommend this trilogy to anyone who loves a good romance, loves those hard to put down books, and easy reads.
Loved it! Love the human side that Nina Bruhn develops. Spent time in the French Quarter and can feel the Cajun mystic in this series of books. Rape is a crippling thing to deal with and it was handled with understanding. Everyone wants their own FBI hero, especially one so determined. Also loved the links to the other two books, waiting to see who is next. Thanks
