If you like Star Trek: The Original Series, this is pretty much the book you want to get if you need a reference work about it. The book has been lovingly crafted by one of the original Trekkies and covers ALL of the original series, the animated series, and the movies. It also has most of the TOS cast appearances in the other Trek franchise shows (missing only "Trials and Tribblations" from DS9). Each episode is synopsized, and then there are several encyclopedic sections on terminology, starships, planets, and a list of actors and actresses from the program.

This was THE definitive reference when I was young and before the movies! The rotating cover guide was awesome... I HAD to get another one since the other fell through a wormhole or something! For TOS purists it's a MUST have!!!

This is the *original* Star Trek "encyclopedia", published as a fan venture in the late 60's (concurrent with the show) in two volumes: the "Concordance" covered the first two seasons, the "Third Season Supplement" covered (you guessed it!) only the final season, and addressed some "TSIs" ... Third Season Inconsistencies. This also includes encyclopaedic material covering the Animated Series and most of the art inside comes from that source.

Some, but not all ... there is also a section devoted to fan art from those original two volumes, and I'm pleased to say that of a dozen or so fan illustrations I produced for the "Third Season Supplement", one (1) survived to this version, making this my first professionally-published science fiction or fantasy illustration. (The fact that it's the *worst* of the lot does little to dampen my enthusiasm for the fact that it's there at all!)

Mine arrived in excellent condition and as advertised vis-a-vis delivery date, and at long last I have the missing "contributor's copy" that Bjo kept meaning to send me, so my personal library is only missing a few later pieces now, not the very first. :)

Really enjoying this book. Anything you want to know about Star Trek, you will likely find here.

Had this book when I was an adolescent and lost it somewhere along the way to middle age. Meticulously researched and curated in a way that was far more difficult to do in the pre-internet days, this book was obviously a labor of love for its author and fans of the original series will love it, too.

I had this book as a kid and lost it somewhere. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. I ordered it 10 seconds after I found it!
Of the various editions of the Star Trek Concordance, this is certainly the weakest, for reasons well out of the control of the author, Bjo Trimble. Specifically, the layout makes reading more challenging than it should be, and the relative dearth of artwork, especially compared with earlier versions as well as considering the amount of artwork that had been approved by Trimble for publication only to wind up being dropped by the publisher.

Thankfully, a new, probably final, edition is in the works, and will hopefully be ready in time for the original show's fiftieth anniversary.
