by Bruce Cochran

During those cold and blustery fall days when most folks remain sanely and snugly indoors, a crazed, camouflaged contingent of comrades are out and about in the soggy wetlands--call them waterfowl hunters. Theirs is a world of wet dogs, dripping noses, frozen fingers, jammed shotguns, and (sometimes) the miracle of ducks and geese alighting in their decoys. And they call this fun. Marsh Madness is a hilarious cartoon tribute to these self-deprecating hunters who will see themselves and their friends in each page of this insightful book from bestselling cartoonist Bruce Cochran.

This is a fun and creative book. I picked this up in a northern Minnesota gift store and caught myself chuckling at some of the cartoons. For instance...one cartoon depicts a guy in a duck blind complaining that he should not have taught his dog hand signals. The dog is in the water standing up and flipping off the hunter. Not all of the cartoons are of an off-color nature but certainly there are a few. If you have a duck hunter in the family and they are not prudish (most of us aren't!!) and you want a good gift...I would recommend this. I got back home from Minnesota and purchased this on Amazon.

Great little book, nothing deep or thought provoking, will never make literary greats, but I enjoyed it very much. His cartoons touch my life, especially the cover which is how I see myself when hunting. Every duck hunter should have this book.

Funny, funny, funny, book. I see myself in the papers. I can't wait to take it to duck camp.
