I do not understand the good reviews some people give to this guide to American Art Glass.

The main drawback is the absolute lack of organization to the book. You might as well be looking at someone's Pinterest page on art glass. The book is just a collection of random photos with no history, no descriptions, no explanations, etc. In fact, someone's Pinterest page would probably be more educational than this book. At least the photos would be better.

Also, for those of you who are older and eyesight is no longer what it was...the book is printed on dark paper in a teeny tiny font, making it very difficult to read.

Unlike Kovel's excellent art pottery book, this one does not organize the items by company, so it's completely useless in terms of trying to identify glass.

I truly hope that someone makes an effort to come out with a decent book on art glass....

This is an excellent piece of work. It will be of much interest to any serious collector of American glass. The photographs are very good, the historical perspective is to be commended, and the pricing of pieces seems to be well researched. Of course, the focus is on high end items and categories of glass so that it is not a stand alone reference for all "art glass" produced in the United States. Nor should it be. It is a fine book to be part of a collector's resources on the subject.

Very nice.

Clear drawings of marks. Good information on types of glass and makers. Catalogue reprints, ad reprints, and photographs from factories included.

A phase I went through while maintaining a booth at a traders mall a few years ago. Still have the book!

Pretty Good.

Great book
Nice pics and descriptions of some of the rarer, more expensive and harder to find pieces from the big designers such as Tiffany.
