This was a great book for those of us who knew of Pope and the revolt but not the particulars leading up to it. Southwest history is a passion of mine.

I live in New Mexico and this book brings to life the history of this region, a history that is overflowing with controversy, greed, and deceit. Roberts travels to many historic and pre-historic sites, some of which are quite remote, and describes what it is like today as well as what took place there centuries before.

This book, along with Blood and Thunder, provide a realistic portrayal of the history of New Mexico and surrounding areas.

Pueblo Revolt is one I've read again and again. A real keeper.
Too much of the authors opinions included in the book.
