wanted more facts but better than nothing always wondered what happened . no mention of mayors connnection to victim.
I really liked the book itself, but it took forever to arrive
As always, Baldwin offers the clearest insight into American society. What a giant!
This is the last work published by one of America's most brilliant writers. It's far from his best. If you want Baldwin's best, read Go Tell It on the Mountain and The Fire Next Time. If you're willing to see what an elderly James Baldwin, in his waning powers, but with the accumulated experience of this master-writer's lifetime, could bring to ruminations on the Atlanta Child Murders of 1979 to 1981, then read this book.

Word to the wise: the edition I ordered from amazon appears to be a print on demand. The problem this process poses: for some reason, the punctuation's incorrect throughout the text. Those absences can be confusing, to say the least; they confound the already challenging aspects of Baldwin's late style.
He's my favorite author. Brutally honest. Great insights.
I appreciated all the different observations the author created. It was like asking a dozen different people to describe the same thing and getting a dozen different answers. Very enjoyable!
Different students are interviewed about their relationship to a missing teen boy who had limited social skills but was a genius in science. Each chapter includes a page from the missing teen's notebook which adds to the suspenseful story. Unique.
