Not as good as the first "Tarzan of the Apes" but better then a lot of the later Burroughs Tarzan books. Has always been a mystery to me how much Tarzan changed in the later Tarzan books...I have wondered for years if in fact Burroughs may have had someone else write some of the stories and he just hung his name on them??

I read most of the Tarzan books as a youth and occasionally re-read some of the stories for light entertainment. I avoid violent and gory stuff so these books are sometimes just right.

This is another typical Tarzan novel. It's not one of the best but its not one of the worst either. Tarzan has to rescue another maiden from a bizarre tribe of lost men while also having to contend with greedy white men who want to plunder his treasure and steal his wife. It's the same formula that Burroughs uses for all his other novels, but hey if it ain't broke don't fix it. And this book isn't broke when it comes to cheap, pulpy action/adventure thrills. An entertaining read for adventure fans.
MOQ
This is up to Edgar Rice Borroughs' high standards for fun and adventure.

One of my favorite of the series--I love animals and want to believe such kindness and gentleness is possible and would be rewarded with such loyalty even of wild animals. If not, it doesn't matter because this is fiction and written and read for escape.

Trying to get through all the Tarzan books. I love them.

ERB was well liked by me as a kid and I returned many years later as an adult and still love it!
I had the entire series when i was young, and this was one of my favorite ones. I have waited patiently for it to be released as ebook and affordable. this one was good. o couple of mistakes in transfer, but not enough to take away from the overall pleasure or re-reading.
