This book is well written and highly detailed about the task of learning to fly and gaining a private pilot's license.
This isn't a substitute for ground school but it give you a lot of piloting information in the author's insights that
would take you a lot of expensive flight hours to learn. This information is all the good stuff you'll be glad to
know ahead of time when you begin flying and soloing. Good book.
