This book is written in a more formal style. However, I felt it a very worthwhile read. It is informative, ties shares research-based studies, and centers all conversation around what are referred to as, "good reader behaviors." I highly recommend this book for graduate and undergraduate students alike.

I bought this book to prepare for a reading coach position. I was really hoping that it would be more specific- it reads more like an introduction to reading then something that really helps us who are teaching it. Most of the information was basic knowledge for teachers who are fairly with it, and vague in really giving concrete steps and ideas in the assessment process. Good book for beginners because it reads well and covers the bare basics, but for everyone else save your money.
