Five-year-old Alex and his three-year-old brother Bryan have secret identities as superheroes. Alex is Raceboy and can move hyper-fast. Bryan is Super Qwok and is a powerhouse of strength. Together the boys protect the Village of Clifton from the mad scientists Dr. Brick and Dr. Devious, from the conniving Mr. Mischief, and from the magical forces of the Wicked Witch. They must also stop smart slime, halt extra-terrestrial invasions, and overcome remote controlled glue. Sometimes ridiculous, other times hilarious, this collection of more than twenty-five stories mixes superhero action with science fiction, fairy tales, mythology, and even classic literature. Originally told by Andrew Winkel as bedtime stories for his children, Raceboy and Super Qwok Adventures has been super-charged with over fifty illustrations by Christopher Brault.

I have a 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. They have both recently developed an interest in super heroes. This book came around at the perfect time. The main characters are easy for my kids to relate with; I found my daughter pretending to be another character that helps on their adventures. I read the first couple stories to my kids and the next morning, I went down stairs to see my daughter reading the book on her own. When I came home from work, she was once again reading the book.

The book is much larger than I would have expected, but it is broken up into quite a few stories. Most are a good size to read to your kids at night. The stories are written in a way that is obviously for kids, but as an adult, I still found myself interested in hearing what would happen next.

Quite a few illustrations are spread throughout the book. The style is a lot of fun and the pictures are helpful to picture some of the crazier characters in the book.

Overall this is a fun book for kids, probably up into the mid teens. As a parent, you will enjoy reading this to your kids.
I bought this book for my 10 year old great nephew and had to buy another one for myself! This book is wonderful for young kids, but I couldn't put it down myself and I'm in my 50's! What an imagination Andrew Winkel and Raceboy and Super Qwok have! Oh wait... that's not imagination, that's real life adventures!! Very well written and illustrated! Kids of all ages will LOVE it, but you'll want to read it, too!
Andy Winkel taught each one of my children, and they loved when I saw he had written a book I naturally had to see what it was about. I bought them for my children and they didn't put them down. They loved them! Exciting and imaginative stories that kept the interest of my 14, 16, and 18 year old but also fun for me to read...I'm impressed, but certainly not surprised. Great Book!
