Both male and female walruses have tusks (long teeth), although the tusks are longer and thicker on males. Walruses also have thick skin and lots of blubber (fatty tissue), which protect them from the stabbing tusks of other walruses. There is just one species of walrus, and its closest relatives are fur seals.
