Purchased these for my grandson and he loves them. I started him off with the 1st book and the next 4 so that he'd have some to read over the Christmas holidays last year. I got him the next 5 in the series for his birthday in March. The next 3 were purchased for him to read over the summer. I will be buying the next 5 in the series as part of his Christmas presents. I love that he reads (he's in 2nd grade) and his mom said these are first books he stays glued to when he starts one. He loves them and I'll keep buying them for him until we hit the end - which is a very long way away!

I ordered originally because our local library didn't have this book in the series. The book arrived in great condition and was just as described. It was in such great condition that we donated to our library to complete the collection.

I bought the set of Boxcar books for my 8 years old. This is a good read for 2-3 grade readers.

I remember the Box Car Children from when I was a little girl. My first grade teacher read them to us through out the year. That was in 1959ish. The books were written in 1949. I recently bought the first book at a rummage sale for 35 cents. My grand daughter age 5 liked the first one so I bought a few more from amazon.com.
The author uses the word queer, meaning odd or different. Some might find this offensive.

It was a good book because the book inspires children to go on adventures and it will help 7 year olds realize that their life has just begun. I am 7 years old and I love love love love the Boxcar Children! :)<3
