"It's a pillar," says one. "It's a fan," says another. One by one, the seven blind mice investigate the strange Something by the pond. And one by one, they come back with a different theory. It's only when the seventh mouse goes out-and explores the whole Something-that the mice see the whole truth. Based on a classic Indian tale, Ed Young's beautifully rendered version is a treasure to enjoy again and again."Immensely appealing."(The Horn Book, starred review)

I got this book for my nephews that the Montessori school recommended. I will buy it one day for my friends!
The kids were mesmerized by the illustrations. It is a good thing that the retelling of this tale is well done, otherwise the illustrations could easily overpower and diminish the prose.

This is a classic, but I keep it in a special place to hand out as a reward for a job well done in the classroom. The kids can't just go up to the bookshelf and take it out during silent reading or choice time because a tug of war over turns or who got it first is inevitable. I don't want a torn book as the result of their loving the it.

This is a wonderful story in its own right taken to a whole new level with these illustrations. I think an art teacher could create several inspiring lessons based upon these illustrations. Highly recommend.
Loved this story. When I was a kid, checked it out at my school library many times. Now I own it. It teaches about colors and putting pieces of a puzzle altogether. Good for reading to kids.
It arrived packaged soooo nicely and carefully!
Very happy with the book!
One of my favorite children's books...
Every night my daughter wants to read the mouse book... Best book around for kids! We name each of the mice which makes it even more fun to read!!
One of my all time favorites as a kid so now I shared it with my nephew<3
