I'm not a huge fan of these bears but my class are and voted for this story over others. It inspired them to see what they can do for people at our local homeless shelter and to understand why it is important to clear out your stuff and "get rid of it". I could see on some children's faces the realization of what the bell ringing and the Salvation Army collecting money outside stores is all about too.
Our favorite part: they did not just donate the board games to the senior home but stayed and played them too. Awesome idea for a future outreach, we think.
Good, but not great. Just giving because you have too much to even keep track of is good, and at least they didn't just give garbage (throw out pile), but I was also hoping they would show the importance of giving for the sake of giving, not just because you have too much. Important lesson, but could have done even more.
Always happy with the Berenstain Bears. Storyline is great, just wish it would not have been set near Christmas time, the premise of the story is something that should apply year round and I think setting it right before Christmas takes away from that. Otherwise a good read.
Good Book, my daughter made me buy every one for her and she reads them to me before bed. The lessons in these books should be mandatory reading for adults when they turn 21, it would make the world a more friendly place.
Good topic and great examples. I wish they gave some helpful examples instead of mostly giving things away. I had high expectations and it did not quite meet them, but was good enough.
Great story to read together. Has a wonderful thought behind it. Good condition and arrived quick
The is a great inspiration for kids. After reading this book my daughter suggested to her children that they go help out at the local church to "Pack Backpacks for Kids", and the children jumped at the chance. They love helping others out and this book reinforced that love.
This has one of the favorite bed time books for my kids. I have been using this book to demonstrate why we need to purge things every so often. I then bring my 2 and 5 year olds with when I donate items.
