I thought I had ordered a "new" book, but when it was received, it was obviously used.
Stains on the pages & all. I haven't read the book yet, I'm still trying to get over the fact
that it's old & used. Maybe it was my mistake when ordering.

Famous people are always publishing books on one topic or another hoping that their name recognition will be enough to sell the book. Oftentimes, their books sell more copies than similar books by true experts. In the case of this book, it appears that Stedman Graham developed a recipe for success that if it doesn't generate success, it at least gives the reader a push in the right direction.

I've observed that many men are threatened by powerful women. And, if they aren't, sometimes they're the laid back person in the partnership. In looking at Stedman Graham though, he's successful in his own right and he's developed the strength of character to grow and thrive in the company of the world's most powerful woman. I haven't seen many secure men of this caliber. The reader can see that he has things figured out and that he's a valuable resource to both the reader and Oprah.

I do have to wonder, however, whether Stedman Graham would have been visibly successful if he were not attached to Oprah or the anchorwoman before her. Perhaps Stedman's recipe for success was a combination of the great ideas in his book along with his media contacts through his love interests. There are actors who have famous actor parents who open doors for them, but still they must possess good acting techniques to get the job and my guess is that this is the same for Stedman. Not having the same powerful love interests as Stedman, I have to wonder how far the techniques in this book can take me.

Many times, readers close a book and can't remember the contents or put the recommendations into practice. I took notes on this book and I've already seen changes in my behavior and thought processes. Many of the ideas in this book are ones that are familiar to the reader like people can learn from their mistakes and people are afraid of change and success. But, fortunately the author merely weaves these in along with other ideas that are part of the recipe. When you get your car tuned up, you know the wipers and lights are working, but you don't know exactly why your car is sluggish. This book helps the reader uncover the particular problems holding him or her back. For me, I was too negative, I didn't deal well with roadblocks and I sometimes didn't strategize before taking action. Stedman presents a good road map for structuring one's life and I didn't disagree with anything, which is unusual.

I read this book in order to refine my work life vision, but it could also be read by someone who wonders what kind of man Oprah likes or what a healthy, grown up man looks like.
I saw this book in a store for about $2.50 and thought to myself what could it hurt to purchase "You can make it happen". Well purchasing Mr. Graham's book turned me around to the point that I see my vision for the future and what it has to offer me. I started by purchasing a day planner and already positive results have come into my life along with some positive thinking people. There are still many areas in my life that need to grow and improve, but we have to start somewhere. I would like to thank Mr. Graham for giving me the blueprint to success.
