by Swami Prakashananda

Baba Muktananda was one of the most respected and revered spiritual masters of the 20th Century. He not only spoke on spirituality but was an Ecstatic Yogi who had the rare ability to give a person a direct experience of the inner Self. This process is known as Shaktipat, whereby the divine power or energy - known as Shakti or Kundalini - is transmitted directly into a seeker by the Guru.

Om Namah Shivaya
Having been a devotee of Swami Muktananda for over ten years during his life time this book has filled in many details about his life which seemed like the missing pieces to complete the picture.. Especially Baba's early years were of great importance to me personally which became very significant as they helped me understand a lot about my own sadhana. In addition the history of the founding of Bade Baba's Ashram in Ganeshpuri and the growth of the community were very informative and meaningful.
Although I have read Baba Muktananda's own biography several times I will re-read it with the newly gained knowlwedge and insights in mind. Thank you Swami Prakashananda for this outstanding work.
Anyone interested in this great yogi will find this book interesting. Parts of it are spiritually rewarding while other parts of it are shallow and quite mundane. It does provide a fairly full account of Muktananda's life, something which Muktananda's autobiography, "Play of Consciousness," does not. Hence, it fills in gaps. It also provides some insight into how this man was able to attain the highest levels of Consciousness. Anyone who has followed the Siddha Yoga path for a time including current devotees will find value in it. Others interested in yogis and the path to enlightenment may also find it useful.
